Do You Know? (Part Two)

Brazil Will Use Drones and US
Robots During The World Cup
In order to ensure the safety of the many people who will visit Brazil and see the matches, Israeli drones will be utilized. These unmanned aircraft will monitor the crowds for defense and security purposes. So called PackBot 510 robots, which are used in the US military, will also be utilized to protect the citizens and tourists. They can be remotely operated and detect and examine suspicious objects or explore dangerous environments.
According to the manufacturer iRobot, the robots perform “ multiple missions for troops and public safety professionals, enhancing situational awareness, reducing risk and increasing mission success “. Aside from the drones and US robots, facial recognition  camera glasses, helicopters with night vision and thermal cameras, high tech-surveillance equipment and soldiers from the Brazilian Armed Forces are used to ensure security and protection in the host cities.

2014 World Cup Is The Most
Expensive World Cup Ever
No, no expenses are being saved for this World Cup, Brazil wants to organize a never to forget, legendary World Cup.
Why you ask?
Because the costs so far are 14-16 billion US Dollars! See here the total costs of the last 5 World Cups:
1994 USA:US$ 30 million
1998 France: US$ 340 million
2002 Japan/South Korea: US$ 5 billion
2006 Germany: US$ 6 billion
2010 South Africa: US$ 4 billion
It is interesting to see that the last World Cup in South Africa was less expensive than the 2002 and 2006 World Cups. But what is really interesting to see, is that the 2014 World Cup is way more expensive than the 2 previous World Cups together, heck, almost just as expensive as the last three World Cups together! The costs include stadiums, transport and security. When reading the news, it is obvious Brazil is investing highly in the infrastructure and decreasing the criminality rate. As many probably know, the high costs made many Brazilians furious and was one of the main topics Brazilians were protesting immensely about in June 2013.

FIFA Scraps 2014 World Cup Speeches To Avoid Protests
In 2013 FIFA president Sepp Blatter and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff were booed by football fans at the opening match of the Confederations Cup. The booing relates to the social unrest in Brazil due to corruption allegations and the extremely high cost of the World Cup preparations. Before the Confederations Cup in 2013, many protesters in many Brazilian cities dominated the streets. Dilma Rousseff is currently not a popular figure to say the least, so therefore FIFA doesn’t want to provoke any protests.
Official 2014 World Cup Song Is Called ’We Are One’
The official 2014 World Cup song will be performed by Cuban rapper Pitbull, ‘Bronx Diva’ J.Lo and Brazilian singer Claudia Leite. This is the 3rd time a World Cup song is performed by Latin artists. The first was Ricky Martin with La Copa De La Vida for the 1998 World Cup. The 2nd was Shakira with Waka Waka for the 2010 World Cup. The single We Are One has been released on April 8 2014.
Official 2014 World Cup Anthem Is Called ’Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way)’
Since the 1998 World Cup in France, each World Cup introduced both a song and anthem. Swedish electro DJ Avicii, guitar legend Carlos Santana, Brazilian Latin Grammy winner Alexandre Pires and Haitian-American  rapper Wyclef Jean will perform the 2014 World Cup anthem. They will perform the song live at the World Cup closing ceremony on July 13 in Rio de Janeiro. The single Dar um Jeito will be released in April.
Coca-Cola Official Anthem For The 2014 World Cup Is Called ’The World Is Ours’
Remember Wavin’ Flag sung by K’naan? This was the 2010 World Cup official anthem from Coca-Cola. This time it is American singer David Correy who has the privilege of singing the next World Cup anthem: The World is Ours. David travels the globe which is part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour. He will perform concerts along the 89-country route leading up to the World Cup kick-off next June in São Paulo.
More versions exist of this anthem since he has collaborated with several musicians including Nigeria's M.I and Waje.
