Germany vs Portugal 16th June - 5PM First half DRAW

This fixture is the toughest of the matches played on the first leg of the 2014 World Cup based on the FIFA ranking of both teams. Germany and Portugal currently ranked 2nd and 4th respectively face each other on a match that will determine who actually tops the Group. Germany boasts of a squad exuding with quality, finesse and skill and will likely play a game concentrated on the  midfield with Thomas Muller to be the sole striker. As one of the favourites to win the 2014 World Cup Germany would want to win this fixture to ensure they top the group and face the Runners-up of Group F.

Portugal will have to risk fielding the  current World best footballer in this decisive encounter. Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered an injury scare for about seven weeks. Ronaldo was recently cleared as being 100% fit for the game and his presence will be pivotal for the Portuguese side.

Both teams have met severally in the past and this game can go either way and I feel the second half is going to be more intense.

Verdict: First half DRAW
