Belgium vs Russia 22nd June 5pm

Belgium came from behind to win the North Africans after putting up a strong fight on the second half and will actually be looking to cementing their place in the next round in Rio de Janeiro with the Russians. In their first game, the Fennec Foxes were organised  throughout the first half, not allowing Belgium many chances, the Belgian coach Marc Wilmots knew he had to change things up. He made all three subs by the 65th minute and both of Belgium’s goals came from substitutes.

Russia, on the other hand, proved little with a mostly dull draw out of their game with South Korea. Fabio Capello must feel like his goalkeepers are cursed. In his last World Cup, while managing England, Robert Green bobbled a Clint Dempsey shot that landed in the back of the net. On Tuesday Igor Akinfeev let a ball go right through his hands to hand South Korea the opening goal. Despite this, Capello is unlikely to make a change in the nets.

Belgium will actually be out for an attacking game once more and will hope for a victory with the Russians here and book a place in the next round, while Russia will hope to win as well. Both teams are from Europe and it has always been about goals whenever two European teams meet in the 2014 World Cup.

Verdict: Over 2.5 goals
